Regional Science High School for Region III is one of the RSHS that were established in the country. It is an institute of learning that affirms its commitment to promote academic excellence, social responsibilities, and awareness of virtues that exemplify model live which are pre-requisites in the formation of a progressive human society and a responsible citizenry, dedicated to the service of God, country and the whole world. It implements a curriculum which is different from Regular High Schools (which uses RBEC curriculum) and Science High Schools other than RSHS (which uses ESEP curriculum) in the Philippines and Philippine Science High School (curriculum is prescribed by DOST).

    Regional Science High Schools were established in the Philippines pursuant to DECS Order No. 69 Series of 1993. The schools were built for above average ability students who have shown an aptitude in science and technology. These high schools take Science, Math and English at a higher level. The schools also have an enriched curriculum, undertaking research which is not available in mainstream schools.

 

     The school was originally located at Angeles City High School in Pampanga,. but was relocated to Olongapo City National High School before its opening on June 6, 1994. Under the management of Former Olongapo City Mayor Katherine Gordon and SBMA Chairman Richard Gordon, the school was relocated again to the former American base at Subic Bay Freeport Zone, near the present-day Mondriaan Aura College.

      Once again, the school was relocated to a former elementary school in East Kalayaan which is the present location of Regional Science High School III. It is located in one of the few remaining natural rain forests in the Philippines.The school buildings are abundantly surrounded by grass, rocks, shrubs and trees, over the school fence is an off-limits forest.The buildings used for the school were still the same structures as it was used as an elementary school during the American Regime, only  some were modified for the better use of the school body.
